NOTE: In over 40 years of collecting, I have never located any 1545 change-a-lanes. Atlas may have never made these, so I am replacing these with straight sections.
Although ATLAS track is at home both on living room rug and huge club layout, it is advised that as indicated in the layouts, it be fastened to plywood sheets available from any neighborhood lumber yard.
If the plywood sheet is to be supported on a basic structure such as a few saw-horses, or folding legs without a framework it is recommended that 5/8" thick board be used. It is further recommended that once the layout has been assembled and all if any landscaping has been planned out that the track sections be nailed or screwed down.
Starting with Track Plan No. 1, a single sheet of 4x8 plywood is used as a base, for a basic yet interesting layout for two cars. Each succeeding plan up to Track Plan No. 5 is an evolution of this basic layout. This is accomplished by adding on a 4x4, then another 4x8 until three 4x8 sheets are used. You may in this way add on to your road course as space, time, and finances permit, or you may choose after building one of the simpler layout to go directly to one of the largest ones.
Track Plan No. 1 is a basic oval but with an irregular configuration that offers the beginner high speed motoring down its longer straight and two different radius curves with a gentle sweep in between. A change-a-lane section is added as it is to all but the cross-over layouts to equal out lap distances.
THIS LAYOUT IS DETAILED ON PAGE 08 OF THE 24 PAGE ATLAS ROAD COURSE SLOT CAR LAYOUTS - I WILL LET THE OVERSIZED FOTO(S) DO THE TALKING - OVERALL CONDITION IS NEAR MINT
