NOTE: All vehicles have factory original parts. The following questions have been asked...
Q1 - Do any of the engines run?
A1 - Yes. All five (5) chassis run when tested with a 9V battery. They run STRONG, but could use a good
overhaul and/or cleaning.
Q2 - What condition is the chrome on the Galaxie, Hot Rod, El Camino, Thunderbird, and Camaro?
A2 - The chrome is as follows: Galaxie - both bumpers have blackened, Hot Rod - nice, El Camino - both bumpers have slightly blackened, Thunderbird - 10 percent blackened and Camaro - grill fine lower bumper has blackened.
Q3 - Has the bed of El Camino been painted?
A3 - I think that the El Camino beds are supposed to be flat black. The bed is glossy, so I am going to say that it may have been painted. However, if it was painted, it was neatly done.
Q4 - What is the putty around the posts on the El Camino?
A4 - The putty seems to have a gummy texture and may have been used for weight more than for repair.
Q5 - Is there glue on the underside of the El Camino?
A5 - Yes, there is definitely some sort of gummy feeling glue or putty on the underside of the El Camino.
Q6 - Have any of the cars been clear coated?
A6 - I do NOT see any evidence of clear coating or shellac on any of the bodies.
Q7 - Are there only five engines?
A7 - There are only five (5) engines included with these nine (9) bodies.
Q8 - Were the posts in the El Camino re-glued and/or is the front post missing a piece (in the photo the front post looks like its missing a small piece of plastic)?
A8 - TI really do not believe that the posts were reglued, but I cannot be 100% certain about that for the front because there is a "lava flow" of gooeyness surrounding the base. There definitely a split in the front post and probably a small piece missing, but once again, I cannot be 100% certain of the base because of the excess gooeyness.
Q9 - Were the posts in the El Camino re-glued and/or is the front post missing a piece (in the photo the front post looks like its missing a small piece of plastic)?
A9 - I really do not believe that the posts were reglued, but I cannot be 100% certain about that for the front because there is a "lava flow" of gooeyness surrounding the base. There definitely a split in the front post and probably a small piece missing, but once again, I cannot be 100% certain of the base because of the excess gooeyness. Since the rear post has a minor amount of gooey surrounding the post, I think that this was more of a situation where the person tried to turn this into a racer more than repair it.
Q10 - Has the Hot Rods windshield been re-glued?
A10 - I really do not think so, but it may have been painted silver because it now appears FLAT vs shiny.
Q11 - In your opinion, how promising is the restoration of the El Camino and Galaxie?
A11 - I would say that the Galaxie is going to be EASIER to restore than the El Camino.
Q12 - Are these bodies full of scratches or other flaws?
A12 - Other than what I explained, there are no other hidden flaws worthy of note.
